Posted Thursday 11th January The New Year is off to a flying start for the PFCC with a packed month of meetings and engagement. Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Roger Hirst will be touring Witham with Priti Patel MP on Friday 12th January to view a Safer Streets project funded by £297,202 of funding secured by the PFCC. On Monday (15th January), residents and businesses from across the whole of Thurrock district are invited to find out more about crime and community safety at a public meeting hosted by Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Roger Hirst. The meeting will take place at Tilbury Community Centre, Civic Square, Tilbury, RM18 8AA on Monday 15th January, 2024, from 7pm to 8pm. All residents of Thurrock borough, including people who live in Grays, Orsett, Corringham and surrounding areas, are invited. Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, said: “Our public meetings are a great way to hear directly from local communities about any concerns they might have or issues they are experiencing.” “The meetings are also a great opportunity for us to brief residents on how we are working together with a range of partners to achieve the priorities in both our Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan. “We will be updating attendees on the work being done around speeding motorists and extra investment in tackling anti-social behaviour in towns. “Essex County Fire and Rescue Service will also be able to provide updates on their work in the area including the excellent prevention work they are doing to reduce the risk of harm.” The next meeting in the PFCC’s public meeting schedule is the public meeting for Uttlesford district which will be held on Thursday 25th January, 7pm to 8pm, at the Dourdan Pavilion, The Causeway, Great Dunmow, CM6 2AA. At this meeting, Roger Hirst will be joined by the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Kemi Badenoch MP. All people who live and work in Uttlesford district are invited to attend. As the month closes, the PFCC’s public meeting for Brentwood district is being held on Tuesday 30th January. This meeting is being held at the Mount Avenue Banqueting Hall, Hutton Masonic Hall, Mount Avenue, Brentwood, CM13 2NS from 7pm to 8pm. All people who live and work in Brentwood district are invited to attend.
