Deputy PFCC announces continued funding for valued street warden at Town Council Annual Meeting

Jane Gardner, Deputy PFCC, attended and spoke at the Witham Town Council Annual Meeting last night.
The meeting, held at The Royal British Legion Memorial Hall in Newland Street, Witham, was attended by local residents who heard the Deputy PFCC outlined recent successes in reducing crime in Essex by 6.6% over the past year and how incidents of anti-social behaviour in Essex have fallen by over 70% since 2016.
The Deputy PFCC was pleased to announce that the PFCC will once more be funding the valued Witham Street Warden with £19k from the Community Safety Development Fund. This will be matched by further funding from Witham Town Council.
Deputy PFCC Jane Gardner said: “I’m pleased to say we are continuing to support the Witham Street Warden, we absolutely recognise the value of this role in providing a visible presence in Witham, liaising between the community and police, engaging with residents and businesses to address local issues and supporting vulnerable community members.”
Other PFCC and partner investment in community safety which has taken place in Witham recently includes £297k of Safer Streets investment in Witham River Walk and Collingwood Road areas.
