Deputy PFCC Jane Gardner today visited a support group for people living with dementia and their carers in Clacton.  The Deputy PFCC chatted to members of the group who care for people with dementia about their thoughts on Policing and Fire and Rescue in Essex. The Dementia Cafe is run by Community Voluntary Services Tendring.  During the visit the draft priorities for the PFCC’s Police and Crime Plan 2024-2028 and the Fire and Rescue Plan 2024-2028 were outlined and members of the group who care for people with dementia were happy to complete the current public survey on the priorities.  Jane Gardner said: “This was a wonderful opportunity to speak directly with such lovely people. It’s very important we reach all areas of the Essex community and we have had some really great discussions today around phone scams, cyber crime and visible policing, all of which will feed into the development of our Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan.”  You can have your say on what the Policing and Crime priorities and Fire and Rescue priorities should be for the next four years.      The Fire and Rescue Plan sets the strategic direction and priorities for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service for the next four years.     The Police and Crime Plan sets the priorities for policing and crime in the county and informs Essex Police priorities.     Now, all people who live and work in Essex are being asked for their views on priorities for both plans by completing a short four-minute survey.      The survey can be accessed here: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/PPUP50/     The survey will run until Sunday 1st September 2024.
