Police, Fire and Ambulance workers came together at Chelmsford Cathedral yesterday for the first Emergency Services Christmas Carol Service. Raising money for local charity Kids Inspire, Roger Hirst, the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex gave thanks to all of those who work so hard to keep our communities safe not just at Christmas but every day of the year. There were readings from Simon Nobbs and Reverend Rob Binks from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, Essex Police’s Pc Rob Hance and Chaplain Ian Gruneberg and prayers from East of England Ambulance Service’s Lead Chaplain Lynda Logan. The Essex Police Band provided the music and the newly formed East of England Ambulance Service Choir sang Deck the Halls and their own special version of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Thank you to everyone involved and Tesco, Asda, Marks and Spencers and Sainsbury’s for their donation towards the refreshments.
