Chief Fire Officer Rick Hylton, Deputy Chief Fire Officer Chris Else and Essex County Fire and Rescue Service Standard Bearer Len Stevens were joined by PFCC Roger Hirst and Deputy PFCC Joel Charles today, to mark Firefighters Memorial Day at a service which included a one-minute silence.
The service was held at ECFRS Headquarters at Kelvedon Park.
Firefighters Memorial Day is an important day for all serving and retired firefighters.
The day honours the sacrifice of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty, acknowledging the courage and dedication of generations of firefighters, including those who serve our communities today.
