It's not acceptable to assault police officers

Speaking following the assaults on four Essex Police officers in the last 24 hours, Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex, said:

“Everyday police officers walk towards danger to protect those who are vulnerable. It’s not acceptable that they should be assaulted whilst carrying out their duties, placing their own lives and health on the line to help others. On behalf of the people of Essex I want to thank every police officer for what they do and send these four officers every best wish for a speedy recovery from their injuries.”
