On Thursday 17th June, John Gili-Ross was elected as the new Chair of the Essex Police, Fire & Crime Panel (PFCP).
Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex, said: “Congratulations to John on his appointment of Chair of the Police, Fire and Crime Panel and of course Cllr Godfrey Issacs from Castle Point Borough Council as Vice Chair. I’m looking forward to working with both them and all the members of the panel, keeping them all updated on what we doing across Essex to keep people safe. Both John and Godfrey will bring experience and dedication to the roles and I personally really value their input.”
  [caption id="attachment_24314" align="alignright" width="232"] John Gili-Ross[/caption] John is well known across the county as a former Chairman and now Vice Chairman of the Essex Association of Local Councils, a Parish Councillor for more than 30 years, Chairman of Colchester Association of Local Councils (CALC) and Parish & Town Council member of the Colchester Local Highways Panel. He is the first independent co-opted member to be elected as Chairman since the panel’s inception in 2012. He has been a member of the panel since 2013 and has served on every working party during this time including being involved in Roger's successful business case submission to the Home Office to take on the governance of Essex County Fire & Rescue Service in 2017.
