Keeping the public safe as crowds enjoy the Clacton Airshow

Deputy Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex Joel Charles attended the Clacton Airshow this morning to see how Essex Police officers are making sure everyone attending has a safe and enjoyable day.

Joel said: "The police operation at the Clacton Airshow is in place to ensure everyone is able to enjoy the event safely.

"Thousands of people gather to watch the aircraft. It is the largest annual aviation event on the Essex coast. 

"A significant amount of work goes into making sure the policing of the event is proportionate and complements what is a family-oriented celebration of aviation history. I am spending the day with officers patrolling the seafront viewing points.

"Anyone attempting to disrupt the event will be dealt with robustly"
