Mayoral Combined County Authority for Greater Essex

The Government’s decision to create a Mayoral Combined County Authority for Greater Essex is an important step toward greater local autonomy. As part of this change, the role of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner will move into the new Mayoral authority, with full transition expected by May 2027.
