Sites for 50 new CCTV cameras have been agreed in Castle Point district, with £1,041,534 of PFCC Safer Streets funding allowing the project to take place.
Roger Hirst MBE, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex was interviewed last week on BBC Essex’s Ben Fryer mid-morning show about the project and the impact it will have on driving down anti-social behaviour, reducing violence against women and girls and curbing road crime in the district.

The new upgraded CCTV cameras and improved CCTV infrastructure, feeding into the Southend CCTV central control room, will be sited across the district in places which include Roscommon Way, Woodside underpass on Rush Bottom Lane and Woodside Park.
