PFCC collaborates with universities and partners to further understand women joggers’ safety concerns

The safety concerns of women joggers in Chelmsford and Essex were garnered by a research project supported by the PFCC.

On Saturday, the PFCC Essex supported a collaborative project with Canterbury Christ Church University and the University of Bedfordshire, at the Chelmsford Park Run in Central Park.

The She Runs research project is investigating the safety perceptions and experiences of harassment experienced by women joggers. The information gathered will feed into ongoing strategies to increase community safety and create community safety for women taking part in sporting activity.

Supported by the PFCC Essex, Essex Police and Chelmsford Community Safety Partnership, women joggers taking part in the Park Run completed a survey and were given resources from the ongoing #Reflect campaign against domestic abuse, encouraging behaviour change.
