PFCC statement following tragic shooting incident in Bondi, Sydney, Australia

Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex, has made a statement following the tragic shooting incident in Bondi, Sydney.

Mr Hirst said: “Our thoughts are with the families and communities affected by the terrible shooting incident in the Bondi area of Sydney, Australia.

“We will not tolerate hate crime in Essex, the safety of the county Jewish community and all of our county communities is of paramount importance. We work closely with our communities to keep them safe.

"The PFCC, Essex Police and all partners are vigilant to any threat to community safety and we will maintain that vigilance in the coming weeks and days.”
