Vital work of Community Voluntary Services in Tendring applauded by PFCC

Community Voluntary Services in Tendring were applauded last night for their excellent work by the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex.
Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex, attended the annual general meeting of Tendring Community Voluntary Services at a special annual general meeting last night.
The meeting was held at the Dovercourt and Harwich Hub on the High Street, Harwich and Mr Hirst was welcomed to the AGM by Brenda Ellis, Chair of CVST, and Lisa Andrews, Chief Executive of CVST.
Speaking as guest speaker Mr Hirst outlined the role of the PFCC in increasing community safety in Essex and the importance of community services, represented by Community Voluntary Services in Tendring, in building safe, secure communities across Essex.
Mr Hirst said: “Thank you for the work you all do, you are the people who build communities and make those communities safer.”
Since 2016, incidents of anti-social behaviour in Essex have fallen by more than two-thirds, burglary is down by more than 80% and homicide has halved.
