Deputy PFCC joins Rural Engagement Team patrol during Hare Coursing Week of Action

Deputy Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Joel Charles today joined members of the Rural Engagement Team (RET) on patrol during Essex Police's Hare Coursing Week of Action.

The RET met with colleagues from the Hertfordshire Rural Crime Action Team at Audley End, and spoke with the local gamekeeper about the rural crime issues affecting the area, a valuable opportunity to discuss how both forces can continue to work together to tackle hare coursing, fox hunting, and other forms of rural criminality that impact our rural communities.

Working closely with neighbouring forces, and rural stakeholders remains key to disrupting offenders and protecting our countryside.
