Reducing crime by a further 40 per cent over the next four years and more prevention work to reduce fires and road deaths are challenges contained in the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex’s Police and Crime Plan 2024-2028 and Fire and Rescue Plan 2024-2028, launched Monday 4th November 2024.

Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) joined Chief Constable BJ Harrington of Essex Police in Witham, and Chief Fire Officer Rick Hylton of Essex County Fire and Rescue Service on a home prevention visit, to launch the plans for both services.

Following re-election as PFCC in May this year, Roger Hirst was required by law to produce a Police and Crime Plan and a Fire and Rescue Plan.
