PFCC celebrates community spirit at Essex High Sheriff Awards

PFCC Roger Hirst MBE was honoured to attend the 2026 Essex High Sheriff Awards, celebrating remarkable individuals and organisations who go above and beyond to make our county safer, stronger and more connected.
Roger joined the High Sheriff and partners from across Essex to recognise volunteers, community groups, emergency services colleagues and young people whose exceptional contributions are making a real difference.
Roger said: “The spirit of service in Essex is extraordinary and the dedication, courage and community leadership of those recognised inspire us all. It’s a privilege to support and celebrate those who work tirelessly to keep Essex safe."
Congratulations to all the award winners and nominees for their outstanding achievements and commitment to our communities, including Louis Garbett from Colchester United Community Foundation who received £5,000 to support the cost of a weekly youth club in Shrub End, Colchester and who also won the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service Shield.
